What is the most popular wrought iron baluster color?
Black Satin and Brushed Bronze are the most popular colors. However, we are certain that even the most discriminating homeowner will find a favorite amongst the six metallic colors that we offer (visit our balusters page).
How quickly can I have the balusters installed once I decide to move forward?
We can usually schedule your wrought iron baluster installation to begin within a week or two of placing the order. The only exception would be for special order balusters/items and even then we can usually give you a good estimate for time of delivery during the design consultation.
How long will the installation take?
Installation time depends on the number of wrought iron balusters in your order. Most installation jobs can be completed in one to two days. As a general rule, we can install up to 200 balusters in one day, depending on how the original balusters were installed.
What sort of payment structure can I expect?
The total cost of the baluster order is due once the contract is signed. The cost of installation will be due upon completion of the job.
Can I pay with a credit card?
Yes. We accept Visa, Mastercard, Discover and Diners Club credit cards.
Does my hand rail have to be removed during the installation process?
No. While all balusters are removed at the beginning of the job, the hand rail is supported by the newels at each end. Each new wrought iron baluster is then custom cut specifically for each place in your stair rail. Accommodations can be made when safety is an issue due to young children.
The newels (thick wooden posts at the beginning and of the railing) are loose. Can you fix that during the installation?
Yes, we can fix loose newels at the owners request for a very minimal fee.
I have carpet on my stairs. Can I still have wrought iron balusters installed?
Yes. It does take some extra care when removing the old wooden balusters, but an experienced installer can do it with no problems.
I'm thinking of putting a hardwood staircase in my home. Does that need to be done before I can install wrought iron balusters?
Yes. The wrought iron balusters would have to be removed in order to install a hardwood staircase. Therefore, to avoid having to pay for both removal and re-installation, it is best to complete the entire staircase remodel job before proceeding with the wrought iron baluster installation.
Can I do the installation myself?
Yes, but it requires specific tools that are not generally in the typical homeowner's arsenal. Our installers have all the appropriate tools along with the experience to avoid common mistakes like damaging the hand rails or cutting balusters to the wrong length. Learning from your mistakes can be expensive and time consuming!
Can I order products from you without a design session or installation?
Yes. If you know what you want and prefer to do the installation yourself we would be happy to order the product(s) for you.
I plan on having other contractors doing upgrades in my house at the same time. How will that affect my installation?
We are happy to coordinate with other contractors to minimize any inconvenience to the homeowner.
